The Vale Gardens & Surrounding Setting

The Bastide d'Angouire is all about the amazing scenery on your doorstep: the entire Vale is yours to enjoy from the Vallonge mountain stream to the top of the hill covered in rock terraces.
You can lounge by the heated pool, read and and enjoy pristine views of the surrounding mountains, especially as the sun sets at apéritif time.
You can walk up the fragrant terraces covering the side of the valley and gaze out over the Lac de St. Croix or take the mountain walk into the village for fresh croissants.
Whatever you choose to do, the sights, sounds and smells of this Provence hidden little paradise provide the perfect backdrop.
The Stream - waterfalls and rock-pools
​Running down from the Gorges is a mountain stream that runs through the property and then on to the lake: the Torrent de Vallonge.
It flows and eddies in a series of waterfalls. When the weather is hot, you can wander down to the cool shade near the river or take a plunge into one of the crystal clear rock-pools!
The family will enjoy walking up the stream into the upper canyon in summer. In winter or early spring, when the waters come gushing, it becomes one of the canyoning gems of the Verdon area.

Activities for Everyone
There are many beautiful walks and hikes inside the property for families with young children. For older siblings and parents, scenic drives and hikes in the Gorges, along the river and around the village of Moustiers, as well as mountain biking or e-biking trails on the Lavender-covered plateau of Valensole.
In addition, the Lac de St. Croix is 5 minutes drive away, where one can swim, stand-up paddle, canoe, hobbie cat or windsurf.
Canyoning, rafting, hydrojet, rock-climbing and abseiling, para-gliding discovery and bungee jumping (highest in Europe) are some of the more sporty or adrenaline-filled activities that people can enjoy.
